Berkshire Family YMCA

At the Y, our youth basketball leagues are designed to develop fundamental basketball skills while teaching teamwork, strategy, sportsmanship, and discipline. Our program invites youth from pre-k through 12th grade to play! The 9th - 12th-grade league is the only non-high school league in the Pittsfield area. This program is aimed at high school-age students who are not playing for high school teams in Pittsfield and surrounding towns in Berkshire County. Our more competitive travel leagues host teams from grades 3 - 8. Our volunteer coaches work with players on a variety of basketball skills, including dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, and defense, and then progress to following a sequence of plays and game rules.

Roots Teen Center

Berkshire Family YMCA

The YMCA x ROOTS Teen Center collaboration supports local youth by providing a welcoming, inclusive space during afterschool Drop-In hours every Monday and Wednesday from 2:30 to 7:00 PM. Volunteers play a key role in creating a safe, affirming environment where teens can relax, connect, and explore their interests. Through a Positive Youth Development approach, volunteers help uplift young people by recognizing their strengths, listening without judgment, and fostering community. ROOTS serves teens across Northern Berkshire County and centers youth voice in everything we do.
